Summer is a great time for visiting with your neighbors on the block and it’s also a great time to tell them about the SHCA! Upcoming Association Events

🇺🇸 4th of July Bike Parade - Friday July 4, 2025 at 10:00 AM @ Slavens

Cover your ride with festive decoration and join us at the field at Slavens School for a bike/scoot/walk around the neighborhood behind a fire truck! Come a little early for 4th of July goodies. Then, stay after the parade to play in the spray when the fire truck turns on the hose!

🚸 Become a Crossing Guard!

Do you want to help keep our students safe while making a positive impact on the Slavens community? We are looking for volunteers or paid crossing guards to assist with student safety during arrival and dismissal. This is a great way to get involved, help children keep safe, and even earn a little extra money.

🎬 Denver Community Film Fest

Come out for the Denver Community Film Fest! The night will feature a reception, screening & post-film discussion of the documentary “Join or Die” on June 12th, 2025. 🚘 Land Use Transportation and Infrastructure meeting for Modernizing Parking Requirements Text Amendment

The Modernizing Parking Requirements text amendment proposes a text amendment to the Denver Zoning Code and a zoning language amendment to Section 59-2 of the Denver Revised Municipal Code to remove minimum vehicular parking requirements for all land uses in the city. A related amendment to Chapter 27 of the Denver Revised Municipal Code is also proposed to address reduced parking requirements for affordable housing development. More info about the amendment.

🚧 High Line Canal Trail - Yale Roadway Improvements at Holly

March - Summer 2025: Xcel Energy and their contractor, Mears Group, Inc. will relocate approximately 1,200 feet of natural gas line along Yale Avenue, between Hudson Street/Service Road and Kearney Street. This work is to accommodate the upcoming High Line Canal Trail Underpass project and ensure natural gas system safely. Learn more.

⚠️ South Dahlia Bridge Replacement

Crews are closing South Dahlia to vehicle traffic beginning in May/June of this year while they replace the bridge. The Highline Canal Trail will be detoured. Learn more.
